The Best Indoor Activities for Kids in Colorado Springs

Even when the weather isn’t playing ball, you can still enjoy some healthy activity at these fun places for babies, toddlers, and big kids in the Colorado area.

Rainy, cold days! We know the feeling. Sometimes you just want to have a change of scene but on a rainy day, it can be hard to get the kids out of the house.

Outdoor activities with kids can be so much easier, especially in Colorado Springs and the wider Colorado area. We love keeping kids healthy and active and we have a great list of top things to do outdoors with kids in Colorado.

When it’s wet and windy, it can be nice for the whole family to get out of home for a few hours. Exploring somewhere new can change everyone’s mood and can be the break you need from keeping kids entertained in the house. Then, you can come home knowing you’ve been out and moved around, and the kids can have a little screen time while the dinner gets made!

For those rainy (or snowy!) days, we’ve made a list of our favorite, affordable indoor family activities in Colorado, let us know if you enjoy them, too!

Our Five favorite Indoor Activities for Kids in Colorado Springs

How cool is this place?! We are so lucky to have such a fun resource for young and old.

Play Street Museum offers a safe, imaginative, and self-directed kids indoor play area. These guys know what they are doing! We love that they’ve researched the benefits of self-directed play and how kids are growing their problem-solving, social, linguistic and other development areas, all while playing!

Play is a serious business and we use a lot of the same principles at Soccer Buddies.

Book in to Play Street Museum for an hour and a half session and watch their imagination in action.

For those young children who want to grow up to be fire-fighters or for any kids that love adventure, this place is sure to foster their spark and imagination. For older kids or adults, there is a lot to read and learn about the history of fire fighting and the Colorado area.

A little stop that is big on fun, this is a free museum that you can explore in under an hour. Let the little ones play to their heart’s content before heading somewhere for a coffee or enjoying a nearby playground if the rain has stopped.

This is a great addition to a morning or afternoon out!

You can see with this list we are all about combining education and play!

Your budding astronaut, scientist, mathematician, or anyone that enjoys space and stars will love spending time at the Space Foundation Discovery Center.

Allow a few hours to stay and see the current events and exhibitions, along with the old favorites.

At just $10 per adult and $5 per child, and an annual pass on offer, this is a great and affordable place to visit time and time again.

This lovely little museum captures the attention of kids of all ages.

The detail and richness of the world Michael Garman has created is mind-blowing. Adults and children alike can spend hours finding hidden scenes, allowing children to go back home with their imaginations primed for some pretend play as they remember and remake what they have seen.

This really is something a bit different and the dedication and craftsmanship is sure to inspire your little artist.

Located in Old Colorado City, tickets are $7.50 per adult, $4 for kids and under 6s go free.
